GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (August 18, 2015) - Grapevine, Texas has been selected as the first-ever Texas destination to host Travel Media Showcase (TMS), August 16-19, 2016, at Gaylord Texan Resort (GTR). Celebrating its 17th year in 2016, TMS is an internationally recognized travel media convention bringing together more than 175 top travel media and destinations from across North America and beyond. Attending journalists will have the opportunity to experience all that Grapevine has to offer, as well as other areas of the Lone Star State.

"We are thrilled to bring Travel Media Showcase to Texas, and specifically to Grapevine," said Joanne Vero, president, J. Vero & Associates, producers of Travel Media Showcase. "As one of our longtime participants, Grapevine is the perfect place to introduce many of the writers to Texas and all of the wonderful travel opportunities and destination stories to be told in the Lone Star State."

TMS consists of a series of meetings between travel media and destination marketing professionals. Attendees will also participate in local excursions focusing on Grapevine's attractions, hotels, shopping, galleries, the Urban Wine Trail and much more. Before and after the convention, journalists will also have the opportunity to visit different parts of Texas.

"Gaylord Texan Resort is excited to be the host hotel and meeting facility for TMS 2016," said Martha Neibling, director of marketing and public relations, Gaylord Texan Resort. "This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our property, and Grapevine, to various travel media from around the country and we know that the 2016 convention will be a huge success."
